Emotional Support Animals in Indiana: Registration and Housing Rules
In Indiana, emotional support animals are protected mainly in housing under the federal Fair Housing Act (FHA) and state rules on assistance animals, but they do not have public-access rights like service dogs. To claim housing protections for a support animal in Indiana, you need a legitimate ESA letter from a licensed mental health professional who has a real therapeutic relationship with you; registration or an ID card alone is not enough.
